The Custom Solutions Business Unit provides custom products and manufacturing services to MEMS customers worldwide. Located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, the MEMSCAP Manufacturing Facility is currently running three shifts and has the capacity of 25,000 six-inch wafers per year. The MEMSCAP team is one of the most experienced MEMS teams in the world. The MEMSCAP organization in North Carolina began as a part of the Microelectronics Center of North Carolina in 1992. In 1999, the group was spun out as Cronos Integrated Microsystems. In 2000, Cronos was acquired by JDS Uniphase. We became a part of the MEMSCAP team in November, 2002 and our products and services continue to grow. To enable our customers to get to market faster, MEMSCAP offers core MEMS technology as a start for custom designs and the industry standard MUMPs®(Multi User MEMS Processes) prototyping services. Our Advanced Development group helps customers realize their drawing-board ideas to manufacturable designs, while a separate staff of process engineers, our Integration Engineering group, interacts closely with customers whose designs are more developed and manufacture-ready. This divide enables our customers to safely transfer their designs to our manufacturing facility without fear of exposing their IP to our Advanced Development team. To give our customers continuity of supply, we have a 5-year track record of maintaining ISO 9001 and TL 9000 certifications.
